Lembasbröd- recept (engelska)

Såg att någon nämnde detta bröd i en annan rtåd så jag googlade lite snabbt.

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups of flour

1 Tablespoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

8 Tablespoons cold butter (1 stick)

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

2/3 cup milk (I found that using using 2/3 cup of heavy cream is better)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

honey or maple syrup for dipping

Preheat over to 425 degrees.

Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add butter and mix with a fork or pastry cutter until mixture looks like fine granules. Add sugar and cinnamon and mix. Add milk and vanilla and stir with a fork until dough forms. (you can add a little bit more milk than the recipe calls forif it gets too hard to stir.)

Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet, mashing them out until they are about 1/2 inch thick and 3 inches across. Makes about 12 - 14. Bake for about 12 minutes or until insides aren't gooey. (I would suggest making them small, for if they are too big, they will fall apart very easily.)

This is a great recipe if you do everything right, and it really does fill you up fast. Here is a veriation that I myself found while playing around on the internet I would give the site credit if I had the name but all I have is the recipe.

2 1/2 cups of flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 Tablespoons cold butter
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract

Preheat over to 425 degrees.Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Chop butter into mixture with a pastry cutter or knead in with your fingers until you get a crumbly mixture. Add sugar and mix. Add milk and lemon extract and stir with a fork until dough forms.

Roll the dough out about 1/2 inch thick. Cut out 3 inch squares and transfer to a cookie sheet. Criss-cross each square from corner to corner with a knife. Bake for about 12 minutes or until set and lightly golden. Makes 10 to 12.

So next time you decide to have a Lord of the Rings marathon, or just decide to try something new, try this recipe for a treat that has no comparision.

Hittade även detta recept på lembas

2 msk socker
2 msk sirap
2 msk honung
2 msk smör/margarin
2 msk vetemjöl
1 tsk kakao
½ tsk vaniljsocker

Skär i lagom stora bitar. "Panera" bitarna med t ex vetemjöl, så klibbar de inte.

Toppen! Borde väl i och för sig ha listat ut att det borde finnas med tanke på all hysteri med filmerna. Ska absolut testa någon gång.

Haha jodå, recepten finns. Man har försökt få till det så autentiskt som möjligt, problemet är väl att vissa ingredienser inte existerar, ska vara nån blomma (minns inte) så då har man försökt hitta saker som ska likna det. :)

Tack för recepten Anne :D
